Man waits in police station to either be released or taken to jail
"Plea bargain is just that. How do you get someone to say that he's guilty,
especially if he's not guilty. Any bail that you can't afford to make is unreasonable.
If you have a job and you have a family, you have bills to pay, and on top that you
have to have a bail of an exorbitant amount of money, then you're under pressure
to make a deal. You have your life on lay away. Yah you're pressured when you haven't
seen your family for months. You're intimated. You come out of the back with
your orange suit on and it's really bright and you see all these people in suits.
You see a splattering of people in the gallery and you can't really focus on them,
you know, their just faces. You might see one person that you know. If you have your
family there, you might be out there for a couple of minutes so you can smile at
each other but that's about it. If you have kids you might see your kid out there.
And you want to see him and you never see him. The visits are like through glass.
You can't hold your spouse or babies. Those things wear on you. That's part of the
pressure. You're pressured to take a plea. You wanta go home."
